:PRemember the cordial stuff made up in old milk churns.I asked one of the cooks why he did,nt drink it and he told me it was a mixture to stop us from getting too horny..It never stopped me when we got up top..I remember allways buying a extra Goffer for the Kellick on watch so I could get my card back when i staggered back on board at 0400.I was only 18 and was on cinderella leave..A goffer here and there and the occasionall egg, prawn, tomato, roll saved me on many occasions. Samberwang [if my spellings right] was my favourite place for takeaways..

Great to be here. Finally there's an old Tango Foxtrot back in the Main Galley, last time I turned to on a tanker it's was as 2nd cook on the old CSR Chemical Tanker, Silver Hawk back in 76 hauling liquid molasses from Lucinda Point, which is opposite Hinchenbrook Island in Qld to Glebe Island in Sydney. I well remember the Green Goffers issued on Sydney in the 50's, could do with one right now, sadly will have to settle for my usual tipple, Jameson's Irish Whiskey, grand stuff. Regards, Irish.
