To anyone thats interested. After all the recent media about the exposure to Beryllium we have received information stating that there are two tests that can be obtained to determin whether you have had any Beryllium exposure. Firstly obtain a referal from your GP, (Thats a Doctor) for all you illiterates out there. Once you have the referal go to a testing centre and the tests are as follows. Firstly a SPOT Urine test to tell what exposure you have. The second test is whats called a 24hr Urine test. DOnt forget you will have to obtain a booking for teh 24hr test but your local Pathology centre should know whats what.

Hi Tanker 73, just been diagnosed with mesothemiola, plural plaque and emphasema, my GP said that there was no point in testing for beryllium poisoning as it had been almost 50 years since contact. Regards, Irish.

I have heard a CAT scan is a way of finding out if you have contacted beryllium. The Liberals in government at the moment are a bloody disgrace to this cause.

;D MMM one would have thought that a different Government should have dealt with this problem, perhaps we all should be asylum seekers. The cost of managing asylum seekers who arrive in Australia by boat has blown out by more than 400%. ... $239 million for offshore asylum seeker management in 2011/12.
