Hi Shipmates I have just rejoined the forum and this is my first ever post. I would like to share some experiences I had on the grey lady,s R A S. deck..Does anyone remember Irish ?,After joining Supply at the Pontoons early 66.and the Ras deck being my part of ship,Iriish O,Flynn took me under his wing and turnded me into a not so bad painter.chipper.scraper and fair Rasser..Irish was old school and served on the Queen B,and was a Voyeger Survivor.I spent hours on deck, hand rails, davids, poles. posts. spars and all those big things, scraping and painting. When we got up top it took 10 days for the people to do what i did in 6 months.I still have a tint of grey paint in my hands....

G'day Flacky and everyone else. Can't help with your queries, but just wanted to introduce myself. I was on the Supply 68 and 69, as a signalman on the bridge. The skipper was Capt. Dacre Henry Duradeth Smythe (recently passed away here in Perth R.I.P.). All seems a million years ago. The Navigator was Lt. Cdr. Chris Hole, real dapper type, used to come aboard after overnight leave in a motor boat, which he tied up alongside when we were refitting at thingyatoo Dockyard. I was a bit worried when I read about the windy hammers today, which is where I found out about this site. I think I had a Jason Gun in my hand more than a signal lamp over the years. My real name is Mike Beasley. Anyone remember? Oh Well ....

Guday Harry welcome aboard, Its about time you made an apearence, I'm looking forward to the first cold one at the bar on the Friday night. Ok on Irish O'Flyn he is held in high regard by a lot of us Dibbies. The same as all the Stokers who served aboard Supply with their Patriarch ABME Les Vivian. Back when stokers were stokers eh. Cheers Harry catch you soon...

Yeah, I remember Irish, a right nutter. Tried to run in all of the stokers for not spit polishing their boiler boots when turning to for a RAS. Dolly Gray the senior E, set fire to his a*se and told him to wakeup to himself.
Strange little man!!
